The IGNOU Result Link for TEE December 2024 has been released now.
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) marksheet stands as a testament to the academic achievements and endeavors of its students. It serves as a comprehensive record of the grades obtained by students in various courses and examinations conducted by IGNOU. In this guide, we’ll delve into the importance, features, issuance process, and significance of the IGNOU marksheet.
Upon completion of term-end examinations, assignments, and other assessments, IGNOU evaluates the performance of students and assigns grades based on predefined criteria and marking schemes.
Once the evaluation process is complete, IGNOU compiles the results of all students, including their grades, credits earned, and CGPA for each course and semester.
IGNOU generates individual mark sheets for each student based on their academic performance and results. The mark sheets are prepared electronically and include the requisite student information, course details, and grades obtained.
After the mark sheets are generated, IGNOU dispatches them to students through postal or courier services to their registered address. Students are required to ensure that their address details are accurate and up to date to receive the mark sheets promptly.
Checking IGNOU Marksheet status is directly linked to your Grade Card. Once all the items in your grade card including assignments, exams, projects , practicals are completed, received and marked, only then will your Marksheet be generated and sent to you. You cannot receive your marksheet without a completed Grade Card.
Here are few cases if you haven’t received your marksheet yet.
In this case, you do not have to do anything. As long as your permanent address is correct with the University, they automatically dispatch the hard copy of your original Marksheet and Provisional Certificate through courier. The time of dispatch varies depending upon the distance between your Address City and Delhi.
In this case, visit your Regional Centre with a copy of your Grade Card. They will be able to tell you where the process is stuck. If you are in Delhi, visit the IGNOU HQ in Maidan Garhi directly. Go to Student Evaluation Division (SED) with a print out of your Grade Card.
If your submissions and exams happened more than 6 months ago and the grade card doesn’t show marks, immediately visit your Study Centre. There might be certain discrepancy that you are not aware of. Once this gets resolved and it shows on your grade card, wait for your marksheet.
The IGNOU marksheet contains essential information about the student, including their name, enrollment number, program of study, date of birth, and contact details. This information serves as identification and helps establish the identity of the student.
The marksheet lists the details of each course undertaken by the student, including the course code, course title, credits assigned, and grade obtained. It provides a comprehensive overview of the academic curriculum pursued by the student during their enrollment at IGNOU.
The marksheet calculates the grade point average (GPA) for each semester or academic session based on the grades obtained by the student in individual courses. The GPA reflects the overall performance of the student and serves as a measure of academic achievement.
IGNOU follows a grading system wherein letter grades are assigned to students based on their performance in each course. The marksheet provides details of the grade awarded, corresponding grade points, and the equivalent percentage range, facilitating easy interpretation and comparison of grades.
Academic Record: The IGNOU marksheet serves as an official academic record, documenting the performance of students in each course or subject undertaken during their academic tenure. It provides a detailed breakdown of the grades obtained in assignments, term-end examinations, practicals, and other assessments.
Verification of Credentials: The marksheet serves as a vital document for verifying the academic credentials and qualifications of students. It contains essential details such as the student’s name, enrollment number, program of study, course codes, grades, and credits earned, which can be authenticated by employers, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
Progress Tracking: The marksheet enables students to track their academic progress and performance over time. By reviewing their grades and cumulative grade point average (CGPA) across different semesters or academic sessions, students can identify areas of strength, areas for improvement, and overall trends in their academic journey.
Eligibility for Further Studies: The marksheet plays a crucial role in determining the eligibility of students for further studies, higher education programs, or professional certifications. Universities, colleges, and educational institutions often require students to submit their marksheet as part of the admission process to assess their academic background and suitability for the desired program.
