IGNOU Recruitment 2025: Eligibility, Job Role and Responsibilities

1. Consultant (Video Editor) (2 Positions) :

According to the Electronic Media Production Centre (EMPC), IGNOU’s Notification issued on 1st January 2025, the Consultant is required to edit and assemble Video recorded footage into polished Videos for its DD Gyan Darshan channel and other digital platforms.
Additionally the consultant will perform the below responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with in house producers to understand programme goals and vision
  • Enhance video quality with graphics, sound, and effects
  • Meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality
  • Stay updated on industry trends and software

Consultants will work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other media professionals at the EMPC to produce engaging video lectures, tutorials, and other audiovisual resources. The selected candidates will be responsible for editing video content for a wide array of academic programs offered by IGNOU. This includes preparing high-quality multimedia educational materials that align with the university’s goal of providing flexible and accessible education.

Additionally, the role demands a keen eye for detail, creativity in storytelling, and proficiency in using advanced video editing software. Candidates will also be expected to ensure that all video materials adhere to IGNOU’s quality standards and are compatible with its Learning Management System (LMS) and other digital platforms.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the position, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: A degree or diploma in Video Editing, Film Editing, Mass Communication, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of professional experience in video editing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in video editing software such as EDIUS (GVG) and SONY VEGAS PRO (SONY) and should have requisite and should have experience in Video Editing in network based system.

2. Consultant (Journalism and Mass Communication) (1 Position)

According to the notification issued by SOJNMS, IGNOU is looking for experienced professionals to join its School of Journalism and New Media Studies. The selected Consultants will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and revising course materials related to Journalism and Mass Communication.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and revising curriculum and study materials for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content relevance and quality.
  • Assisting in the production of multimedia educational content for online and distance learning platforms.
  • Conducting academic reviews and ensuring materials align with IGNOU’s standards.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication or media related disciplines from any UGC, recognized university, with a minimum of 55% marks (for the General Category) or 50% marks (for the Reserved Category). A PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication is desirable.
  • Experience (Desirable): The candidate is desired to have experience in designing and managing online courses or e-learning platforms. Experience is also desirable in preparing (writing, editing, and translating) study materials for Journalism and Mass Communication at PG and UG level programmes. Candidate with experience in providing theory and practical training/counselling for Journalism and Mass Communication programmes at PG and UG levels is also desirable.
  • Skills (Desirable): Proficiency in digital tools and technologies, including smart classroom setups. Familiarity with SWAYAM and other MOOC platforms. Needs to have Excellent communication and coordination skills.

3. Academic Consultant in Visual Arts (Painting)

According to the notification issued by SOPVA, IGNOU’s School of Performing and Visual Arts is also inviting applications for Consultants specializing in Painting. These professionals will contribute to the creation of course content and learning resources for programs in Visual Arts.

Responsibilities

  • Developing academic content, including study guides, assignments, and project modules, for Visual Arts courses.
  • Assisting in the production of video tutorials, workshops, and other multimedia resources.
  • Reviewing and updating course materials to meet contemporary artistic and educational standards.
  • Participating in academic discussions and providing guidance to learners.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification and Experience: Post-Graduation degree in MFA (Painting) from any recognized University with experience in teaching learning activities of open and Distance Learning OR Post Graduation degree in MA (Painting) any recognized University with experience in proving theory and practical counselling for visual arts (Painting) at Post graduation level. A Ph.D. in Fine Arts or related disciplines is desirable.
